Beya Han was born in Seoul in 1958. After graduating from Soong-ui High School she spent 5 years as a
DJ at a music cafe, translating English novels and so on, and was accepted to Hongik University on a
special scholarship. She majored in English Literature and continued her studies in the United States
at the University of Utah. She returned with a degree in international communications and media and went
to work for at the Korean branch of the famous P.R. firm Burson-Mastella. With fierce professionalism
she was soon promoted to assistant general manager. However, she gave up her career to follow her
childhood dream of traveling around the world with a backpack.
In 6 years, she has traveled around 65 countries and written 'Daughter of Wind, Walking Three and a Half
Times around the Earth.' Nominated as 'the most popular person' by Internet users, and the second-most
'Woman most wanting to resemble', one of five new intellectuals nominated by women's special organization.
She has become a new model of this era by showing everyone that she could become someone just by doing
what she wanted. Currently she is a DJ for SBS's FM radio program called 'Han Beya's Scenic Travels of
Korea.' She is also an active lecturer for corporations, universities, and government organizations.....
